The library is located at 417 Old Rim Road in the Chevelon Butte School Building. Established in 1993, the Forest Lakes Community Library became a branch of the Flagstaff City Coconino County Public Library in 1995.
The library is composed of over 10,200 books, videos, periodicals, and audio cassettes. Computers are also available for use by all guests. The many computer games available, are a big draw for the children; however, homework assignments are no stranger to the computers either.
The library hosts many different activities during the year, including story times, the summer reading program, community awareness programs, holiday parties, fundraisers, potlucks and summer youth activities. Last summer our story time program was on Thursday mornings. Sometimes we had a good turn out and other times we didn't. This summer we decided to alternate Saturdays with our story time programs and summer youth activities.
For those of you who have never visited the Forest Lakes Community Library before, come on in and check it out. You will be quite impressed.
