Cooper Quill Award - Kevin Schindler

The Friends of the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library announces the Copper Quill award goes to author Kevin Schindler in 2025. 

He has published several books about the history of Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. His latest Book is “Lowell Observatory: Images of America”. He has written many publications and bi-weekly writes “The View from Mars Hill" for the Arizona Daily Sun.  He is also the Historian at Lowell Observatory. His award ceremony will be in the spring of next year, 2026. His peers nominated him for this award.  You can see our collection of Kevin's work here.

Kevin came to Flagstaff in 1994.  He was hired by Lowell Observatory for Public Relations.  He is a historian, author, educator and has raised his family here in Flagstaff for the past two decades.
